Linda is Chair of the Judging Panel of CILIP Libraries Change Lives Award UK and Vice Chair of CILIP Community Services Group. Her current post is Senior Manager Customer Services, Dorset Libraries (job-share) as well as undertaking part-time freelance work. Linda has a wide range of experience in libraries and museums and is an advocate for the value of library staff and libraries and has worked with CILIP to develop a web-based advocacy toolkit. Brian Gambles
Brian is Assistant Director of Culture for Birmingham City Council, overseeing the Library & Archive Service, the Arts Team, and Community and Play Services, and directing the Cultural Strategy for the city. His major task is directing the Library of Birmingham, which opens in June 2013, and to realise this opportunity to put into practice a long-standing interest in new models of library service for changing times and changing communities. Nicola was appointed Assistant Director, Hampshire Libraries & Information Service back in September 2009. Nicola has found the funding and led on the installation of RFID in some of Hampshire’s libraries, whilst carrying out a fundamental restructure of the Service to ensure its financial sustainability. Nicky Parker
Nicky is the Head of Transformation at Manchester City Council where until January 2010, she was the Head of Libraries. She is responsible for delivering the transformation programme across the whole of the City Council. To give you a flavour of what that means, she is currently setting up a new call centre, neighbourhood customer service centres and overseeing the £40m redevelopment of the City’s historic Central Library. Kevin Winkler
Kevin is the lead on several extremely key New york Public Library strategic initiatives to improve services to a diverse public. He began his NYPL career 17 years ago. Before his promotion last year to Deputy Director, he served in a variety of roles at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (LPA), including Assistant Curator of the Billy Rose Theatre Division, Chief of the Circulating Collections and, most recently, Assistant Director for Access Services.
